And Now the Screaming Starts (VIP104)

Previously released on VHS in the 90's, AND NOW.. was re-released on to DVD and VHS in 2003. One of the few 'Vaults of Horror' titles not to be released on the 'Screamtime Collection' this release is quite rare and hard to find, seemingly only on the market a short while before it was picked up by Anchor Bay and included in their 'Amicus' coffin set (along with another former Vipco title, Asylum).

The DVD is your typical Vipco release:
- 4:3 transfer (open matte)
- no frills 2.0 mono audio
- No subtitles
- Usual 'extras'; Filmographies, gallery of frame grabs and the same four trailers that appear on almost every release.

Cut Versions!

Vipco released a great many films and, inevitably for a UK company specialising in Horror and Exploitation films, a good few were cut.

Not Pan and Scan!!

It's really annoying seeing people describe Vipco's full frame dvd transfers as 'pan and scan'. THEY WEREN'T! They were 'open matte' transfers and there is big difference between open matte and pan & scan:

Open matte transfers expose the entire image, the top and bottom of which would normally be trimmed for theatrical exhibition. They loose nothing from the image.

P&S scan brutally chops the image from all four sides of the frame and renders most films unwatchable.

The ONLY Vipco releases that are P&S are the Screamtime editions of THE BEYOND, HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY and MOUNTAIN OF THE CANNIBAL GOD and the 'Cult Classics' release of GREMLOIDS!

Unused Cannibal Holocaust cover

Found this cover while browsing around online. It's better than the one that was eventually used.

Alternate Titles 2

More silly re-titling (Though nowhere near as bad as MYA Communication's many re titles!)

Massacre in Dinosaur Valley

Bill Hinzman's Flesh Eater

Alternate Titles

Vipco had a peculiar habit of re-titling many of their releases, often removing footage in the process. Here are a few examples

Top: Original; Bottom: Vipco's new title card

Escape From the Bronx:

The Night's of Terror (aka Burial Ground) became 'The Zombie Dead'

Mannaja: A Man Called Blade

The Last Hunter:
